I find it quite interesting that both Remy and Jones-Moore are listed at number 2 behind Hunt. We certainly have depth at that position. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and we can wear down opponents with fresh legs in second halfs.

RE: Updated Depth Chart - Rocket A - 08-25-2014 04:08 PM

Voss listed as DE, was he a DE or LB last year?

Bush ahead of of Murdock at mike linebacker?

Quinn starting sam linebacker, yet Murdock & Coleman are backups?

The Rockets are certainly deep on the DL & LB!!!

Ebert converted from TE to LG? Wondering if this is due to injuries...

RE: Updated Depth Chart - T4C8 - 08-25-2014 05:37 PM

He was listed as OL in the spring chart, so no I don't think so. Think he was just moved to OL after last season.

Trent Voss is part of the DL group and has been since camp started. I asked coach Campbell about this after seeing Voss line-up at DE in practice and he said its all about getting the best players closest to the ball. He will be seeing a lot of action at LEO in a similar role that Elliot played last season.

Connery Swift is a walk-on that has just exploded on the team and the staff loves his skill set. A great find for UT!!!!!!!!!

I commented to Campbell that Quinn is actually a bigger version of Voss but just as fast. His instincts need work but they are indeed there and just need honing. This kid is going to be a HUGE star at UT. He is a very athletically and powerfully built kid for just 19.

Ebert is a beast and his size is now better suited for the OL. I think we'll see PT from all our tight ends including Runyan, Riley, Zmolik, Roberts, and Rosenbauer.

Wilcher is kick returner. If he is fastest guy on the team, that is a real good choice.

Hopefully he explodes through the home and doesn't tip toe through it.

They have Swift listed at 5-9 and backing up Whittaker at FS. If that's right I hope his skill set includes a vertical jump of about 48".

Hopefully he holds onto the ball!

Scary thin at safety, though. Unless they're hidin' something.

What happened to the big JUCO transfer Zimmerman?

Still on the roster (if it's up to date). Maybe didn't crack the 2 deep.

RE: Updated Depth Chart - inductchuck16 - 08-25-2014 08:58 PM

There was quite a bit of hype on this board about Treyvon Hester, crazy to see him listed as a backup DT. There was also a lot of hype about Murdock, Voss, and Sylvestre being a great trio at LB. It's just interesting to see how things have shaken up. Hope it all works out for the best.

Walked onto the turf at the Glass Bowl after class today, it's looking pretty awesome, the new video board is huge. The home opener better sell out or come real damn close, no excuses city of Toledo!!

RE: Updated Depth Chart - Toledo Football 1st - 08-25-2014 11:11 PM

Mark Meyers has a report up on his site. In his comments he states that Moore "is even" with Hester. No doubt they will rotate a lot. What's crazy is having two sophomore DTs of that caliber!

RE: Updated Depth Chart - pono - 08-26-2014 02:34 AM

moore constantly surprises people. there were higher ranked recruits in last yrs class, but i thought he'd be one of the few to play a key role and he ended up a part time starter. this yr all the hype is on hester - who is real good - but moore is pushing him for snaps. kid isn't tall but strong, quick, smart and skilled. really like this front 7, best we've had in a while.

at lb murdock is coming back from off season injury and bush has played great. voss moved to that hybrid de/lb position to be more of a threat to get into the backfield.
