You know 780-509-4 is pretty good. It is not dominate but respectable for sure. I guess USA kicking ass put a lot of pressure on her and the administration to force a change.

I'd guess a combination. When you spend a good amount to totally refurbish your stadium it puts added pressure on a coach to be successful and put butts in the seats. I heard some compliments from the Cajun coaches about how well the field drained and was ready for play after the rain they had during the weekend series earlier this year.

USA has a lot to do with it. Her glory days were behind her. We havnt been good in several years.

I saw it coming. We just totally overhauled our softball field and spent 3million. It's probably the nicest in the conference. We didn't build this to be a average softball team.

Same happened with our men's basketball coach. He "retired" after the first year in the arena.

I might contest that "nicest" statement.

Cajuns is certainly nice and the biggest but big doesn't make it better. There's an argument for both facilities.

Slap a Troy logo on ours and you'd be singing a different tune.

Grandstands arent close, IMO. Multiple suites that connect all the way around the grandstand along with a large press area at Lamson. Lots of covered seating and just a more complete design with the brick exterior.

Having the turf is nice for Troy and I like all the trimmings (wall padding all the way around, logos on the field). Certainly a very nice setup as an entire park.

Just another bunch of crying in a thread. Not shocked.

Yes she "resigned". It was time. Poor recruiting plus some "internal" issues led to her quick departure.

Like I said big doesn't make it better. Our size fits our needs. How about showing our new field house and the indoor batting cage?

That's why I said the grandstands arent close. I didnt say the entire park is way worse than Lamson. I even said as a whole it's a very nice park.

I can agree with that.

Both have their assets in different ways.

There's absolutely no need at Troy for seating your size.

There's also more area seating closer to the outfield

I agree, even though it's not the size/seating capacity that makes Lamson such a nice park. Walking into the corridor that runs below the grandstand just gives it a really big time feel regardless of the number of seats in that grandstand.

A new two story indoor batting cage is a wish list item. They'd like to set up dedicated high speed cameras for hitting/pitching. Our indoor cages are inside the indoor practice facility right now and is not dedicated to softball in its use. We did have a new field house constructed when the new stadium was built.

James Kolaitis. Name is being thrown around on social media. He use to be Troy director of baseball ops before leaving to become an assistant to help build USA softball before again leaving for an assistant at Oregon who's got a good program.

Troy's new facility is very nice, but it's a bit of a stretch to say it's nicer than ULL's
