Arkansas state will be as good as the QB. If Fredi Knighten struggles so will stAte. If fredi plays up to potential stAte will turn some heads.

That's a decent prediction. I'd bring GSU and GS up some and ULM down some.

I might have agreed had we not just signed the transfer QB we'll go as far as he takes us.

You mean signed a QB that has very little game experience at two different FBS programs and is now transfering to a third? Don't equate NC State transfer with instant success.

I like the fact we have a good returning core but I think we(APP) are one or two spots to high. Lost two starting WR's and Kam Bryant is serviceable but no world beater at QB to make up for it. We are also small in the trenches unless some of last years redshirts step up. I would put us at 8. Idaho and GSU are still in the bottom and G Southern is trying out a new offense. Best case 6, worst case 9.

Agreed and we return more like 6 starters, not 5 on offense. Two full time starters and one partial starter on the OL, our all conference RB, our all conference WR and our very talented TE. We actually appear to have upgraded at the WR position from what we could see in spring camp.

I think the thing that you can't expect previews to know or focus on is our return to a true HUNH spread offense. Last year was a struggle as Harsin sold everyone on continuing the offense that won 20 games in 2 years but didn't actually implement anything close. Our winning streak only happened because Harsin turned over the offense to a Malzahn holdover on staff.

I think trying to forecast anything beyond the first 2 spots is problematic.

I think ULM and Troy are high, and swap TXST and App

Or bottom two spots(Idaho/GSU). Yes 3-9 are very fluid. My personal opinion of where App will fall is 6-9. Could I be wrong of course. That's why they play the games. Just giving an opinion.

I agree they are high as well, but who jumps them? Its a new sunbelt, perceptions will change quickly I feel.

I will actually be shocked if we fall below Idaho and NMSU.

They are just now adding the Sun Belt. They don't seem to have a separate SBC section yet.

Presumably because they haven't gotten around to creating an SBC section. They are only covering the SBC because App and GS joined so I doubt they are very versed on our individual teams yet.

It's tough to say. The conference is pretty level overall. I think Troy will ahve to prove themselves as they have slipped recently and ULM showed what they are without Browning. Yes they have a transfer but not sure what impact that will have yet. I think USA is number three right now. App St may be higher then TXST by having the "easier" confernece schedule. But App St has a lot to prove after last season even if they have returning players.

I think stAte and UL are the top two and GSU, Idaho, and NMSU are the bottom three. The rest is a wash.

Of course someone will surprise everyone and someone will disappoint.

How do we have the easier conference schedule playing Louisiana and stAte on the road?
