white would be stupid to leave right now. He has a great group returning and a nice recruiting class joining the program. He has positioned La Tech to give him an opportunity to get a much better job than anything available now.

Coaches are getting smarter about not moving from mid major to mid major or low high major even for a slight pay increase. It isn't worth starting over the program you've built to move from C-USA to the AAC.

You take a job in a conference like the AAC , because your team can get an at large bid to the NCAA. A coach doesn't usually take a job in a conference like the AAC when one is not offered.

You take a job in a conference like the AAC , because your team can get an at large bid to the NCAA. A coach doesn't usually take a job in a conference like the AAC when one is not offered.
Unless your job is Memphis, Uconn, temple or Cinci, you're probably not getting an at-large bid to the ncaa tournament.

SMU with Larry Brown or Houston with Kelvin Sampson will not be turned away. Apparently you haven't noticed the outrage this year with SMU being left out. IMO if a team is in the top 5 of the AAC then more years than not they are probably dancing; which is why Aresco and league AD's have stressed better OOC scheduling from incoming CUSA programs. Another thing to remember is that the AAC is still playing round robin basketball next year.
Whether fair or unfair the perception of coaches in CUSA is their records are a product of playing in a bad conference. That can only be fixed by playing good OOC schedules.
