Cajuns hang on to win game 2 10-9. WKU scores 2 in the 9th and had the bases loaded, but left them loaded.

Rubber match tomorrow at noon.

Agreed. I think it can all be summed up by looking at the slugging percentage of .289, among the worst in baseball.

Lots of runs scored in the Louisiana/WKU DH today.

I listened to the pre-game of game one and Jay Walker said the wind was blowing out hard to center and left-center field. Don't know how much that affected the overall number of runs scored, but I suspect it caused some balls to carry or at least do some crazy things.

Glad the Cajuns held on for that second game win. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a better day.

I am pulling for the Cajuns to keep their high ranking and get a regional. It would be a big deal for the conference if this happens.

ULM takes the conclusion of game 1 against UALR 6-4. UALR just hit a 2 run homer in the 9th to take a 10-9 lead in game 2.

Georgia State beat Troy again 6-3

ASU 6-2
WKU 4-4
USA 3-4
Troy 3-4

RE: Baseball: Weekend Games 3/28 to 3/30 - chiefsfan - 03-29-2014 09:30 PM

ULM ties it with a 2 out double in the 9th. Now trying to win it.

UALR is pretty uniquely horrible in 1 run games. They just haven't been the same since dropping that fly ball to lose to Ole Miss.

To the 10th in Monroe. Live Stats says there have been 10 errors in this game.

RE: Baseball: Weekend Games 3/28 to 3/30 - chiefsfan - 03-29-2014 10:12 PM

ULM beats UALR 11-10 in 11 innings thanks to the Trojans 8th error of the game.

ASU 6-2
WKU 4-4
USA 3-4

Big winds from the North, and the WKU boys were hitting everything over the plate, and Blue said it was a ball if it was nicking the corners. Clearly the Cajun pitchers were afraid to throw fat ball strikes, BUT when they were forced to WKU knew what to do. Weather had zero effect on most hits. No crazy swirly balls, it may have helped a couple of homers for both teams. WKU just played better today in both games, but in one game it did to matter we played well enough to win.

The Wind blowing out explains game two, but it doesn't explain game 1...unless the wind magically changed directions before each of your at bats.

ASU beats Texas State in the Rubber Match 4-1 to take the series and move to 7-2 in league play. Bradley Wallace, the guy originally pegged for Friday Nights, but lost his job after pitching to a near 7 ERA, throws 7 shutout innings today in a dominating performance.

Good Series Bobcats. You have one heck of a pitching staff...

Louisiana beats WKU 7-4 to take the series and remain in 1st place.

Congrats to the Cajuns. You guys are not going to win every game but the record is still eye-popping and I would think your ranking will not drop much at all this week.

ULM up 12-0 on UALR trying to sweep the series after the firing of Coach Shake. Nice start for the interim coach.

Ga. Southern in process of another loss on the road, losing 5-0 to Davidson in 8th.

I don't know how, but UTA got their first Sun Belt sweep, and it happened to be on the road. I don't care how down the USA posters are about their team this year, that is an accomplishment for us. Honestly, I did not think that would happen this year, even counting the struggles of Little Rock.

RE: Baseball: Weekend Games 3/28 to 3/30 - chiefsfan - 03-30-2014 03:08 PM

UTA Proves the point I Made last weekend about how good of a team they actually are right, finishing off a 3 game sweep at USA 6-1 today.

Troy trying to salvage a game out of Georgia State, up 13-9 in the 9th.

ULM about to mercy rule UALR and drop the Trojans to 1-8 in league. Yikes.

I told you guys...I've talked to our coaches and players. I was told directly that you guys had one of the best offenses in the league, and if the pitching ever catches up...watch out.
