that's better than nothing. I can hook up the laptop to the projector and get a good feed from ESPN. Sound? That's a little different.

Espn 3 is on your computer. Keep in mind that the conference is on the last year of the big east contract. Starting in 2014 the tv coverage will be worlds better.

You can either link a laptop to a TV or if you have ROKU you can download the Twonky app and stream it from a device such as Ipad, Ipod, smart phone, etc...I watch a lot of TV via Twonky and love it.

stream torrent link via computer => hdmi to tv : Take an all male 1 to 2 3.55mm audio cable from the headphone jack to an open audio in on your receiver.. and there you have it.

I use a laptop with DVI + an optical audio cable. Same quality as HDMI. But for ESPN3 I use my XBox 360. Awesome UI for it.

my laptop is connected to so many cables and plugs in my office room that there is no way I'm gointg to attempt to connect it with our flat screen, 3 rooms away....
I can't wait for the day that we're on an actual TV station vs. a computer.

Basketball season. We'll be on ESPN for most home games. And football season in 2014, for some games.

The app is simply the player that can stream. There is a logo menu you can select from (ESPN, CNN, Youtube, etc...) or type the url. ESPN is part of the logo menu. The app needs to be both on your device and the ROKU. I have multiple ROKU's around the house so I can pull up what I want, select the player/TV I want, and it starts playing.

There's one for ROKU and most streaming devices but a cable or SATV account is needed in order to get live action.
