just wait till monday. lots of rumblings during the broadcasts today that GT and UVA headed to Big12. which most likely means Uconn and Cincy to ACC. and thats not counting the possibility of a MWC raid that would take UTEP, Tulsa, UTSA, and UNT. thats when stuff gets crazy.

Yep! Waiting too long is not a good thing. Ask the Big East. They could have expanded long before and gotten a much greater since of stability with some teams having a few years already in the conference before the hacking started. Now look at where they are!
The Sun Belt is a great conference, but should be much more proactive. It should bump the membership up to 12 ASAP. That way if more teams leave the loss won't be as drastic, as there will already be some stability and continuity built in.
Just say'in.

I've posted it before and I'll post it again, I wonder how much of the lack of announcement is due to presidents wanting to see if there is anything left of the SBC before bringing in more teams. No reason to keep the seat warm if we are all going to move, just the way it is. UALR and UTA are the only ones left without a seat when all is said and done.

I added Jax St and Greensboro. The teams that I have coming are Georgia Southern and App St (packaged), Missouri St, and then one for the Texas/Louisiana area. Glad to see the rumors about NMST and Idaho losing steam they were just bad ideas.

I do not see it that way. I think he believes that there will not be 8 1A schools in the Sun Belt, so those that can will leave. Not many fans are excited to see the Sun Belt once again drag up some 1AA schools.
Right now today WKU, ASU, and UL are looking for any life raft. USA, and TxSt will be soon, as well as GSU once they get their 7 million people market some semblance of a 1A team.
UTA? Of course you want everything to stay the same, after all you all do not have football, but hoping for it in the not too distant future. Still no football, and UARL never to even allowed to dream.

Does not matter, the NCAA wants 8 for a conference. You do not know if they will allow you time to recoup the number under 8. The push should be for football only NMSU and Idaho if they are willing to board the Titanic part II. I mean they must still have wet clothes from the WAC.

I'm not one who holds a grude against any school that wants to make a move that they see as a step up. Everybody would do so if given the chance. The problem for all of the schools that are looking for your so called "life raft" is that there isn't one out there for them.
As such, it would seem that current members of the SBC have a vested interest in making sure that the conference is as strong and as stable as it can be going forward. If by some chance there is a "life raft" that floats along for these small market teams to grab onto, then so be it. But if one doesn't float along, they better do everything than can to keep the SBC afloat and as sturdy as possible.

That is correct. The SBC jumped on GaSt before it was necessary and I think that move provoked CUSA into snapping up ODU and Charlotte when they would have moved more slowly otherwise. Jumping again may cause another foray by CUSA into our current membership when they may have been content to wait.
I'm not saying that adding these teams is a bad idea but everyone screaming that we need to move now is either a fan of an FCS team that they desperately want to see move up or they are a bored, impatient SBC fan that wants to see some action.

Unless your looking to ad programs that are currently less than you would want. No one is going to jump until they have no better options.
