OK, so after trying this experiment with the politics board we are bringing it back with some changes.
Now if you want to participate in the politics board you have to opt in through the User Control Panel. If you don't join the group Bearcats Politics, you won't even be able to see the forum. This way if you don't want to be bothered by it, you won't have to see it every time you visit.
How do I join?
1. Click the link to go to your User CP at the top of the page.
2. Click Group Memberships under Miscellaneous on the left hand side of your screen.
3. Click Join Group under the area Groups You Can Join next to the Bearcats Politics.
Now you should see the politics board in the same place that you saw it before. If you tire of the politics board feel free to opt back out. There is no approval process, it is completely up to you.
In all honesty, we did not expect to see such support for something we have received so many complaints about (from both sides of the political spectrum). I am willing to say that we made a mistake, and we hope that this course of action is the correct one.
