About time. Long overdue.
Amazing to see how those that disagree are whining on behalf of those that do not the mental and spiritual fortitude to follow the law and become legal residents of the greatest country on earth.
They have spit in the face of my ancestors who crossed the oceans, faced huge barriers but worked hard and overcame to make a place for themselves and eventually me.

Lets be PERFECTLY clear. Im NOT for illegal immigration and I do believe our country needs to do something about it. But this law is an insult to our individual rights in our country.
When LEGAL CITIZENS of our country will have to carry PROOF of citizenship with them at all times in case they are stopped for NO REASON, other than loking hispanic by the police. Then we are becoming more like a NAZI or Communist country.
We really want to crack down on illegal immigrations, the lobby high penalties for businesses and people who hire them. If there are no jobs most wont come.
Today Arizona overreacted and spit on the rights of its legal residents.

I agree with you. It has to be done another way. This law is just plain stupid. Yes because some is of a certian decent it makes it ok. Imagine if it had been black people or god forbid white people, but since its the "mexican" its ok. If they want to do it right make everyone carry identification...oh wait that would be too simple huh.

Then lets pass a`law that EVERY US citizen MUST carry proof of citizenship at ALL times and that EVERYONE stopped for ANY traffic violation MUST show proof of citizenship.

There is a simple solution to this whole mess and it would create a lot of jobs. Build the great wall of the USA where that pathetic fence sets now. I don't live in Texas, arizona, or any border state to
Mexico, but we have our fair share of illegal immigrants invading Huntington and the rest of wv.

and maybe you should look at WHY are they there? Could it be that people are WILLING to hire them at lower wages without paying taxes and providing health care benefits.
Thats where the big enforcement should be. HUGE fines for those wiling to hire them at lower wages to be their gardeners,nannies,fast food workes etc.
Forget about a wall, if jobs are NOT available they wouldnt come, but there are plenty of americans that are willing to hire them for cheap labor.

This is all goes back to shipping jobs to china. Which should not be allowed. When the Mexican people have no jobs they go looking for work. Where do go? America. The problem is that we have been allowing the American Businesses (Like F@CKING Wal-Mart) to ship jobs over to China so they can pay some one a dollar a day to make radios. This has got to stop. NAFTA was designed to allow America,Canada,and Mexico to work with each other easier. The problem is American Businesses have been allowed to use the same rules when dealing with f@cking China. This idea of a Global economy is BULLSH@T! The only countries that we should be helping when it come jobs are Canada,and Mexico. The helping of china has got to stop. The Tyson meat company has been pushing to allow export to and from china when it comes to it poultry. What happens when they are allowed to do this. I tell you what. They will move every damn poultry farm they can to china and pay the chinese next to nothing to work it. But what happens to the Amercian poultry farmer. You guessed it. They are screwed. This dumb*** law is AZ is just another way of not addressing the real problem. If you want to get rid of the Mexican. Then give them a job in their own country.

BUT, we are NOT Mexico. We are USA and we do have individual rights. as I said had they made the law that EVERYONE MUST carry PROOF of citizenship at ALL times, rather than letting the police enforce it when they want to. Then it wouldbe fair to ALL. I still wouldnt support it because as an American Citizen, I am NOT willing to give up more of my individual rights to our govt.
If Arizona wanted to really address the problem, they should have written a law in which stiff penalties and jail time would be given for hiring illegal workers. But I bet the BIG businesses would kill that in a flash.

AZ has done nothing substantial here to curb their "traveler" problem. As long as the US has the massive welfare state that encourages people to travel here and receive benefits from our stolen wages...the travelers will continue to come. The only real outcome from this law is going to be an expansion of the police state and loss of civil liberties. Cheer AZ on if you wish...but...as ALL governmental initiatives...there will be unintended consequences and this program will expand beyond its original scope into another massive bureaucratic waste of stolen wages.
END THE WELFARE STATE instead of worrying about travelers.
