Ahhhhhh news stations - georgia_tech_swagger - 10-02-2009 11:01 AM

Time given to interview Ron Paul and discuss the Federal Reserve:

- Fox News: 3 min
- Bloomberg: 4.5 min
- The Daily Show: 9 min
- Russia Today: 12 min
- Al Jazeera English: 20 min

American News: It's like light beer. In a mini bottle. Fermented in a prison toilet.

I mean f*cking Al Jazeera? SERIOUSLY?? UGH!

And very few cable systems carry Al Jazeera English.

I think it says more about Ron Paul than it does about American news.

I would expect as much from a neocon. It's not news unless it's put into 1 minute bytes without throught provocation or opposing views being trampled on by blowhards.

neocon? Yeah....no. Just someone who understands the value Ron Paul has to the stations that give him the most airtime.

People get what they deserve. The American public has shown little or no appetite for in-depth news and/or analysis and network news (and that includes the 24-hour stations) are built to give the people what they want. They want pablum, they get pablum.

Ron Paul cannot be labeled a NeoCon. He want no part of foreign engagement except commerce. Anyone who thinks he is a NeoCon, should look up that definition. This is one of the only things that is unattractive about Ron Paul to the political center of the US.

He was calling me a neocon SUM, not Paul.

There is one other thing that makes Paul unattractive to the political center. He's a kook. (see NAFTA super-highway, Iran isn't pursuing nukes)

There are already too many kooks in Washington. Paul is no different than Pelosi, Reid or even Obama. Kook is a relative term when talking Washington.

He won every Republican debate according to the pollsters. The man has a message and a following.

There's something to hang your hat on. I believe those were internet polls if I'm not mistaken. Rocks of scientific method to be sure.

How'd he do in the primaries?

So did David Koresh.

Paul was a nice little b-roll story during the campaigns. Now he's barely an afterthought to everyone but his most devoted followers. There is nothing about him that warrants huge news coverage by any station.

I thought he wasn't allowed to participate in the republican debates. At least the major ones.

Palin / Paul

RE: Ahhhhhh news stations - WoodlandsOwl - 10-05-2009 07:32 PM

My family has known Ron Paul since the mid-70's when he first went to Congress from Houston. He has gone much more to the Right than when he first came into politics. He was always fiscally conservative, and limited government, but not so much isolationist as he is now.

RE: Ahhhhhh news stations - Paul M - 10-05-2009 09:37 PM

Other than some of his fiscal thoughts, not much more attractive about him.

Among many other things, his stance on immigration definitely appeals to me.

Ron Paul on Immigration

His full platform.

Ron Paul on The Issues

Won't happen. He wouldn't endorse McCain/Palin...what makes you think he would run with her?

Paul/Sanford (or S/P) would have been a formidable ticket before the scandal.

I agree with Paul 70% of the time. It's the other 30% that scares the living **** out of me.
