Don't like the proposed healthcare reform? - THE NC Herd Fan - 07-17-2009 05:01 PM

Then write your congressman, especially if they are a democrat or one of the 8 spineless republicans.

The future will either be

Public Health Insurance should pay up to $_______ for a treatment that would extend a patient's life for one year.

A bureaucrat applying a formula to decide if you are worth treating, or
the current system that allows your personal physician to offer you various treatment CHOICES.

I wouldn't get into a debate over the scope of the coverage, I'd focus on the cost. People understand cost. And with the CBO Report, I don't know how a sane Congressman can vote for it, unless he is from some VERY SAFE Liberal or Inner City Congressional District. Even the Democrat Congressmen around here from Fulton and Dekalb County have some "reservations" about the Bill. NC Herd is right, you have to burn up the Congressional Phone lines to stop this.

"The health care overhauls released to date would increase, not reduce, the burgeoning long-term health costs facing the government, Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf said Thursday.

That is not a message likely to sit well with congressional Democrats or the Obama administration, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi , D-Calif., said Thursday she thinks lawmakers can find ways to wring more costs out of the health system as they continue work on their bills.

This is one of many areas where the democrats are definitely NOT pro-choice.
