The death of Cap and Trade? - THE NC Herd Fan - 07-11-2009 10:36 AM

Did China do conservatives a favor and KILL the Crap and Trade bill?

Quote:Thank goodness for the Chinese. Together with India, China helped guarantee that this week's G-8 meeting failed to reach any agreement on limiting carbon-dioxide emissions. Ironically, the actions of the People's Republic should help America avoid going further down the road of over-regulation.

The refusal of China and India to go along with the carbon-dioxide limits should be the death knell for the Cap and Trade bill currently being considered by the Senate. The legislation is a pretty hard sell. Even advocates admit restrictions would only have a small effect -- only a fraction of 1 degree Celsius, a virtually unnoticeable .07 degrees -- on global temperatures by 2050.

It appears this will be a hard sell if the two largest industrial polluters won't participate the US taxing the hell of of its industries and individuals won't do much.

God Bless China!

.

Yep, we will all appear to be like the Fool Obama, if we hamstring our selves to this MESS when everyone else is Laughing at us and ignoring it totally.

If we burden our Nation with this idiocy and no one else does, that puts China and India WAY Ahead of us in Competing for Glory and Dollars across the Globe.

Obama seems to have been a really "Protected Child" and even a more Protected Adult - - he has no understanding of the Real World and of Other Nations.

This makes him look and I know, 'Feel' like a child when he gets blown off and the cold shoulder on issues like Global Warming and Cap and Tax in other Nations.

This answers Rebel's Question for "If Obama was ready to be POTUS" and the answer is a Resounding "NO".

02-13-banana Lets just keep putting more **** in the air and hope that the oil and coal companies are right that there is no such thing as global warming and/or climate change. You ******** keep whining about how there will be no money left for your kids and that they will have to pay huge amount in taxes but when it comes to the health/climate for your kids, it is **** them. It is all about the money because you are greedy bastards.

Dude, when are you going to STOP with that old tired song and dance ????

If you hate a Free Market, Freedom to Trade with whom ever you desire, not be punished for Emitting 1% of all Global Emissions from your Money Making Factories and Businesses, then move to Russia man or Cuber (Ted lingo).

This is NOT about Greed, how do you think the Mental Midget in the Oval Office is going to PAY for all his Socialist/Marxist/Communistic/Nationalization Plans there Robert ????

I mean he can Tax Income at 100% but that leaves nothing for the Worker to buy Food, Medications, Utilities, and other necessities with ....

So you are bringing in a Ton of Money to your Government Coffers for about a Month and a Half - - then ALL Businesses Shut Down because NO ONE HAS ANY MONEY TO PURCHASE GOODS !!!!!

Where then does the Money Obama Craves come from Robert ?????

Who then is the GREEDY ONE - the SELFISH ONE ????

Once again, you prove that you have NEVER had to pay a Single Red Cent in Taxes.

Poor little Robbie, you haven't been following the news about the EPA hiding proof that global warming may be based on bad science since there are equally valid studies showing NO change in temperatures.

Health? Instead of Barry's socialist approach to medicine the Gubment could actually buy health insurance on the open market for the 45million uninsured cheaper than the crap he is peddling.

It took 100 years for pollution to get to this point we can't solve it in a decade, and the US can't solve it period, we only account for 25% of CO2 pollution Cap and Trade won't really change that since the industrial base creating most of this will move to China or India, leaving individuals with power bills 4X higher than today. Cap and Trade won't reduce C02 output significantly but it will result in higher cost to the individuals. Cap and Trade doesn't mandate lower CO2 levels, just taxes those out of compliance and that tax is passed on to consumers. CRap and Trade is nothing more than a tax increase disguised as an environmental bill.

Yeah, I know because all the rest of our businesses will move to India and China. Where is the proof THAT will happen?

So is all the talk of global warming a guess. Did you ever see an article about it that does not contain the words "might" or "could"?

Robert uses words like "is" and "will". Him and Al Gore are just a couple who are that blatant in there BS.

Jesus H Christ. How many call centers do we already have in India? The trade deficit is proof that the stuff we used to make here is now manufactured overseas. Do you have any idea how much of the stuff we use today is made in China? This is all done to save money. C&T will only be yet another excuse for more companies to leave.

Oh, and another thing, I'm sure we can all assume what types of industries will be affected and guess what type of employees they all seem to have? Union employees. Maybe C & T will have some sort of benefit after all.

You know, for all the times you've posted about people lacking "facts" despite having either reputable links or a clear argument, I don't think I've ever seen you once post a reputable source. Additionally, your responses are usually limited to single line quips which are neither funny, educated, nor logical. Usually they are shots at Bush (who BTW is no longer the president nor responsible for dealing with any issues this nation may face), cracks on conservatives (with no relevancy to the topic) which merely seek to insult them (racist, uneducated, etc.), or emitting an air of superiority in topics of which you have not demonstrated any expertise in. I watched for four years as you continually bashed Bush for every little decision while continually taunting posters for backing his positions, mocking them for their Nazi-esque followership. Now after little less than eight months I watch as you put the boots on and begin the uneviable task of backing practically every little policy that Obama and the Democratic congress have tried to implement and mocking every poster who dares express concerns with them as Chicken Littles. Having continually seen and read this pattern from you, it raises the question on how educated on ANY of these topics you really are, or even how willing you are to educate yourself (much less change your position) about them beyond the Gore/Obama/CNN/etc. spun "news releases" and Maureen Dowd columns.

Looking back at some of your past posts, while you sometimes reflect a person with good intentions, the majority of the time it appears consistent with what I have listed above. I can only come to two conclusions: 1) You are doing this intentionally to frustrate posters (which usually ends in the desired results), or 2) you really do not have a clue about most of these topics and merely blindly support whatever is the popular opinion (global warming) or democratic position (economic policy) by reiterating the catchphrases of the moment.

My bottom line is that you really don't seem to contribute much other than getting Reb and some of the others riled up, and quite frankly this general ignorance is really starting to piss me off to the point I'm actually posting about it.

I bashed Bush because there was good reason. I did not bash him for every breath of air he took, every trip he made or every speech he made but that is EXACTLY what Trippy, Rebel etc do. I mean, using a teleprompter? Give me a ******* break. I don't agree with Obama on every issue. I am not convinced that the Cap and Trade is a good deal-but not for the same reasons the righties have. I think he should have dropped the phone tapping crap but he did not. I think he should be pushing for a public option in healthcare but it is yet to be seen what will happen with that. I am not happy that we aren't looking into what appear to be crimes by the Bush administration.

Btw, I have ADMITTED that a lot of the reason I post what I do is to piss Trippy, Rebel etc off. :)

Yeah, but you don't concede that Taking Air Force One on a "100 Mile Spin" at the easy cost of at least $50 to $75 Thou was a Stupid and Wasteful Idea. $328 Thou for a 9/11 Recreation that had people actually Pissing Them Selves .... And I was always angry at Bush for something he Did or Didn't do and I never held off either way. Always said what I thought Positive or Negative.

And there is a HUGE BIG Difference in just USING a Teleprompter for a Long and Drawn out Speech like the State of the Union, but to pack it to every Press Conference and Town Hall Meeting and when it fails on you, you turn into a Blubbering, Stuttering Dumb Ass, then yes, there is a Problem. Bush overworked himself Protecting us from Outside Harmful Influences, but he dropped the ball on a lot of Domestic Issues I thought were important .. like Shoring Up the 2nd Amendment where a Barack Hussein Obama COULD NOT TOUCH IT, making sure the 1st Amendment was not Abused to allow Fringe Groups to use it AT WILL while Stifling People with an Honest Message be it Fact or Opinion ... re-uping his own Tax Cuts so they were out of Obama's Reach even if he got '2' Terms ... such things as those.

Obama jumped out of the Gate by Closing GITMO and now we have had at least "4 of the Released GITMO Terrorist go BACK and DO IT AGAIN where they are KILLING U.S. TROOPS" !!!!!!!!!!

THAT SHOULD BE CRIMINAL, at it's least, on Obama's Part.

Obama has taken over and has plans to take over every Nuance of our lives and every Free Market Business he can lay his hands on by some sort of "Tax You Out of Business Strategy" or just walking in and Saying, "Get Out, I Am Here Now" ..... People are SCREAMING at him to STOP and he is Plowing Them Down Robert.

We left Vietnam with much Humiliation because both Johnson and Nixon caved in to Protesting Political Pressures and Nixon was a LAME DUCK PRESIDENT, why did he order us out when we could have won that war in 6 MONTHS doing it right ????

Obama listens to no one except the Protesters that Protest for HIM and HIS Agenda ..... he gives no Quarter to those who Oppose Him and he has Usurped the Democratic Process of this Great Republic by acting this way.

NEVER have I heard a single word out of Obama's mouth that did not have "We will have to SPEND $X Billion here, $X Hundred Billion here, and $X Trillion here ..... BUT this will save the Economy" .... GEEZUS PETES MAN !!!! Who is going to PAY FOR ALL THIS PROSPERITY .... the White Rabbit as he Slides Down the Hole with Alice ????

Yes Bush Spent a lot on Two War Fronts - - but I have yet to hear Obama say a Single Word about how we and the Iraqis will use their Oil Production to Repay Our War Debt - - why doesn't he say anything about this Robert ???? Obama has NEVER given me, a Staunch Conservative, a chance to see what he can Really Do other than TAX and SPEND like a Rabid Wild Hermaphroditic Dog in Heat.

Until such time as he can stop making me and my Nation Communist, all I see is all there IS TOO SEE ... a Socialist/Marxist/Elitist/Border Line Communist who craves the love of Kings and Dictators.
