Ron Paul finally makes an endorsment - ETSUfan1 - 09-22-2008 07:03 PM

And its Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin. I started to lean Baldwin's way after Barr refused to attend Ron Paul's 3rd party presser. I realize most of the people on here wont care, but a few might. I'm sure GTS wont like it because Baldwin is a former minister, but this has made my mind up on who to vote for in November.

Im not into the CP...They are for the Wars on drugs..gambling..prostitution..ect. In other words...They will put me in a jail cell for non-violent crimes that have no victim. Thats not very Liberty minded and I oppose their stances on those issues.

Im disappointed in RP for even getting involved with either the LP or the CP.

Baldwin scares me socially.

RE: Ron Paul finally makes an endorsment - ETSUfan1 - 09-22-2008 08:00 PM

Well...who else out there is even close, liberty-wise, to Baldwin or Barr? Beats the hell out of the big two.

I looked at the Constitution Party a while back, when I was looking for a party, and it scared me as well. I'll remain independent.

I understand your exasperation. RP was as close to it as Ive seen since Harry Brown. We missed our opportunity.

The last paragraph just makes it too hard for me to believe that this is anything more than a spat. Barr refuses to kiss Paul's ring so Paul gets mad and endorses someone else. How very petty. I thought the Campaign for Liberty was bigger than any one person.

Ron Paul endorsement makes zero sense and neither does the constitution party this year. If Paul and the Constitution party believe in strict constructionist judges on the federal courts, they will vote for McCain. If Obama gets in with a very Liberal Senate, those judges won't be strict constructionist judges....they will be activist judges and they will legislate from the bench. Nancy Pelosi will turn San Antonio into San Francisco with a few activist judges. I'm sure Paul's congrssional district will not be trilled when gay marriages are declared legal in Texas as a result of the types of judges OBama has planned for this country. Were getting a Revolution all right, Hollywood agenda with Pelosi and Obama ramming it down our throats. Lindsay Lohan becoming the authority on values for the Obama administration.

Okay, f*cking seriously. Can we go ONE CENTURY in this country without being bigoted towards some group of people?

1800's: Women
1900's: Blacks
2000's: Gays

At least the groups are getting smaller. /facepalm

It won't be an issue.

Bobcat have you ever heard Ron Paul's reasoning for not supporting McCain? They basically agree on nothing and Dr Paul puts principle over party. I for one love it that he is not backing McCain just because he is the lesser of two evils....and a republican.

Baldwin is anti-FairTax. That gives Barr an edge for my vote. At least Babar has left the door open for us FairTax hopefuls.

If Baldwin was "anti-tax"...I would go out and knock on doors for him.05-stirthepot

No joke. People look for any reason to discriminate.

Over party? Paul is ONLY a Republican so he can get elected. He's never been a Republican. He's kinda like Paul Broun here in my district.

Robert Taft
Barry Goldwater
(early) Ronald Reagan

All beg to differ.

Ronald Reagan DEFINED the Republican.

I'd say Robert Taft did. That's why his nickname was Mr. Republican.

Ronald Reagan is the reason why all our jobs are being shipped overseas. Ross Perot was right about the giant sucking sound that would be heard in NAFTA passed. It just took longer than he anticipated. Reaganomics is slowly killing the national economy, and it is being accelerated by the fact that Nixon took us off the gold standard, so that not all of our currency is backed any longer. We have become a nation of borrowers, and freeloaders, such as those about to be bailed out because they elected an incompetent CEO, who will probably get a government paid bonus to get the hell out of his chair.

We bail out huge corporations, whose board members and executives run it into the ground, and Republicans are the first ones to say this bailout is needed. But that isn't the capitalist way. Capitalism states that supply and demand dictate, and if you can't cut the mustard, somebody else will.

Not anymore. Republicans and Democrats alike have become socialists... 03-banghead

But I'm basically an anarchist at heart, even though I usually vote Libertarian in Presidential elections...
