Jeb Bush - Machiavelli - 02-06-2007 04:28 PM

Read some glowing articles on Old Jeb when I was down vacationing in Fl. With the brother polling in the high 20's the name would hurt him, but he could be a guy that comes into play in 08'. The Corner is sur pushing for him. Thoughts???????

- Ninerfan1 - 02-06-2007 05:19 PM

He'd be great, but he won't run in '08. 2012 is more likely, especially after 4 years of Hillary.

According to Morris it's going to be Guilliani in a landslide..... for the GOP nom. Guilliani Clinton race. Better than even money at this time. We shall see.

I like Morris and he's a smart guy but it won't be Guilliani in a land slide. He's got little if any chance at the conservative vote. Without that, you don't get the nom, just like without the liberal one you don't get the dem.

Romney probably won't win either. No one knows who the hell he is. ....not to mention he's for nationalized healthcare.

I think Gingrich could win. If you don't, you've been listening to too many liberals.

That would almost restore my faith in the Republican Party.

Here Here. I keep hearing McCain, and that makes my head hurt.

Also, Jeb would make endzone2 run to a new party, since Jeb married a Mexican. 01-wingedeagle

I don't really know anything about Jeb. Except that at one time, Jeb was the heir apparent to George Sr. Now it looks to me like little bro' has screwed up Jeb's chances at the Presidency. I think we'll see a President Gingrich before we see another President Bush.

You do know Jeb is the youngest, right?

I didn't say it was a problem. I think Jeb would be a good candidate.

There is only one way the republicans will win in 2008 or 2012 for that matter. They must abandon their determination to get a "middle of the road appeaser" candidate like another Bush. Jeb Bush will get blown out of the water this time. It wont come down to 1,400 votes like it did in Florida in 2000. Thanks to Jeb's ole man, for the past 8 years 4,000 votes/day have been pouring in across our border for Jeb's opponent. Guiliani absolutely out of the question. He is unelectable. The white middle class in this country (still the majority at about 70% in case you don't know) are screaming for a Ronald Regan type conservative who will right everything wrong. The republican party still erroneously believes that they need to appeal to the Mexican and black vote which is an absolute waste of time. Blacks are going vote democratic even if the candidate is the antichrist and Mexicans are going to vote about 70% democratic too--maybe more now that there are a lot more of them. Then throw in the fact that if a 3rd party true conservative runs like Tom Tancredo or Savage, the republican party doesn't have a chance.

So, as I say, there is only one hope for republicans. They must put up somebody who is a truely a conservative and not a RINO like our current president. Otherwise, the dims win and not by just 1400 votes this time. Even somebody like Hillary would win.

did anyone here his speech in israel? i didnt and havent been able to find a transcript of it. my boss(religious right) paraphrased a quote about the us needing a temporary dictatorship to win the war on terror. id hate to make any judgements without actually reading or seeing the speech.
