"There ought to be a law" contest!? 03-puke

How about, "Laws we should get rid of," contest?

We have problems in our country. Big problems. And 11 year olds who are conditioned to think that the government can and should specify every little thing, are a big part of that problem.

there's also the little known "laws we don't have, laws we shouldn't have, but laws we're arresting people for anyway" category:

...then you have laws that have NO gray area, I.e. common sense:

<a href='http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45104' target='_blank'>Man Lectures 14 Y/O about dangers of crossing street...now a "Sex Offender".</a>

Idiocy:

Quote:The appellate court agreed it was "unfair for [Barnaby] to suffer the stigmatization of being labeled a sex offender when his crime was not sexually motivated," however it sided with the state's attorney who argued it is "the proclivity of offenders who restrain children to also commit sex acts or other crimes against them."

Quote:Trial Judge Patrick Morse ordered registration reluctantly, acknowledging it was "more likely than not" Barnaby only intended to chastise the girl. "I don't really see the purpose of registration in this case. I really don't," Morse said. "But I feel that I am constrained by the statute."

That's odd, Judges only seem to feel this way when the case is stupid and hurts citizens.

This line of thinking doesn't seem to stop the Supreme Court whenever they get an itch about something.

This is insane. I can understand why the guy doesn't show, but he needs to get this over with.
The guy should also be allowed to sue, isn't this an abuse of power?

And they need to get rid of the cop who filed the charges. He's obviously a moron, and a blight on the city.
