Please don't vote for a game just because your team is playing in it. Which of the above games provides the best matchup and would be the best game to watch if you were not a fan of any of the teams in the tournament?

- Dekalb Dogg - 03-01-2004 11:21 PM

Western/Middle without question!

- Cajunman02 - 03-01-2004 11:24 PM

I voted for UL vs. USA. Not because we are playing, but look at the two games we played against each other this year. We both beat each other at the other's home place, and not by much. USA won by like 4 and we won by 6 over there. Both games were close all the way to the end. It should be a great game and of course the Cajuns will be blowing out the Jags this time around!! :D

GEAUX CAJUNS!!!

I voted for MT/WKU

I voted for UL vs. USA b/c of how close the games were in the regular season.

I think UNT/UNO will be the closest game, but the WKU/MTSU game will be the most interesting after that 11,000+ crowd at the game in Murfreesboro the last time.

- ALLIESPAPPY - 03-02-2004 08:58 AM

Little Rock/ASU is the most intense rivalry in the SBC to start with, and playing in the tournament will only make it more so.

A excerpt from the local Murfreesboro paper on the aftermath of the game with Western Kentucky (written by a Western alum, BTW):

[b]<span style='color:blue'>Late shot leads to fireworks for rivalry

Seems Western Kentucky was the perfect opponent for MTSU when it came to establishing the home attendance record at Murphy Center.

Old rivals in the Ohio Valley Conference and now among the better teams in the Sun Belt, these schools should have a genuine distaste for the other for all the obvious reasons.

But it spilled over into an unfortunate and avoidable run-in after MTSU

I think the USA/ull game should be the most competitve. WK will win cause they already have the best player in the tournament, that playe is their arena. THe other two matches should be good but I just think that UNT wont put up a big challenge to UNO and Ark St has really fallen apart the second half of season, in my humble opinion.

The Jags, however, are the cinderalla team. They will outplay ull and advance.
Final score :USA 75- ull 69

GO JAGS!!! 03-cool :D

Our guys just beat them several days ago at their home arena. It'll be a close game.

- newsjag - 03-02-2004 02:22 PM

When they played USA on Sunday, they just didnt seem energized, I dont know if they were saving ut for the tournament or what. They just lacked spirit.
UNO is playing consistent and fairly well. It should be a good game, but not best of 1st round.

GO JAGS!!! 03-cool

UL-USA because of the season series 1-1 in two close games. I have a feeling the Jags will gte a little to confident and gte rocked though.

UNO-UNT should be a good close game.

ASU-UALR you've got rivalry but noit much else.

MT-WKU Good matchup. I won't be suprised by any outcome or margin of victory.

- Dekalb Dogg - 03-02-2004 05:11 PM

The atmosphere puts the WKU/MT game way over the top. The CLOSEST game is sure to be UNO/UNT. UNO has gone to overtime in 6 of their last 11 games. With the exception of THREE Games, our last 11 games have been decided by 5 points or less. It's been incredible. Just about every game has come down to the last shot.

The WKU/MT game will be as intense as possible. Middle is sure to bring people...Western will obviously be ready after the game in Tennessee last week...it should be incredible to witness.

- radiogreen - 03-02-2004 09:56 PM

WKU/MT because it's at WKU and they are gonna "kill" each other. I'm sure it will be very physical.

All games are going to be excellent because everybody split their season series with their opponent. I can't wait for the games to start

I'd say that the USA/UL@L game will be the best. Orien Greene torched us at the Mitchell Center and our look has changed in the last two games so it will give Jesse Evans something to ponder. The big thing is putting a lid on Orien Greene. It'll still be very close. 05-nono

Greene has not been himself the last few games 03-confused

I say the best game is mt/wku just becuase there will be a large crowd for this which will feed the excitement.
