says that they are tired of hearing all these rumors started by fans of schools wanting into C-USA. Let the people who's job it is to make that sales pitch make it to the right people. Please quit going to message boards and begging fans of other schools to let you in 03-confused WTF

I'd tell them to blow it out their a__. But that's just me, I think it's refreshing to talk about joining a new conference and I'm certainly not begging to get into a new conference.

I was kidding about the source, the source was me :D just as reliable as some of these other posters "sources" I just find it disgusting to see people go over "begging" on these message boards to be let in a conference like anybody on these message boards can do anything about it  if you do not believe me on how ugly it can get go over to the C-USA forum.

Yeah, gets pretty pathetic when some of the La Tech and UNT posters go at it; then the La Tech and USM posters go at it. Do they have no pride LOL!!!!

I think it's funny watching Tulame and La. Tech @ Ruston telling us we can't get into CUSA. Even though they have nothing to do with the selection process, they think they can control if we get into that conference. I hope noone from our school goes over to that forum and begs for UL to get into the CUSA.

Too late :frown: Look, I understand wanting in what is percieved to be a better conference. Would I like to see the Cajuns get in? Hell yeah. It would do wonders for attendence, recruiting, the athletic budget and we could see some teams I have enjoyed us playing on a more regular basis. I doubt there are many SBC fans would would not like their school to have that opportunity. With all that said, again message board begging and arguing will not make that happen. I doubt we are even in the running but if we get in great if not we will have to continue to focus on improving all of our programs and winning the conference we are in. I love playing North Texas, Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee in football and look forward to developing rivalries with Troy State, FAU and FIU. I would love to see LaTech back in the conference because despite some of their more vocal (holier than thou) fans, they are our oldest rival. But whatever team becomes the 12 full member (8th football member) as long as they are a Southern team that is fine with me. People talk a lot of **** about SBC football but seem to forget this conference (football wise) is entering its 4th season. Prior to that many of our programs were at their lowest points in history. If the Sun Belt does not take any major hits in conference re-alignment we will all be fine. There is certainly no need to go over to the C-USA board and hand out your resume' like your trying to give away girl scout cookies then get pissed off when nobody is interested. What do they expect those C-USA guys to say over there? There is a pecking order in college football and right now we are at the bottom. Who is right above us? I would say the WAC. Of course none of them will agree with me but I would not expect them to. Those are the main schools going over there with this crap, SBC and WAC schools. Like badgerwolf said "Do they have no pride LOL!!!!"

Hey, I wouldn't have love for C-USA or the Big East to have taken us more seriously, but who am I kidding we're barely out of diapers.
I agree SwampHound, the SBC is young and still developing (finding an identity of it's own) and with time this conference will become stronger as the teams compete for the conference title, what is going to help is the fact that the bowl alliance now has a sponsor which should help things get more competetive.
The old saying, only time will tell and maybe a little luck along the way. Once all the alignments get worked out and these designated conference are finally put to sleep, things will improve.

It's mostly LaTech fans that are blowing smoke. Us NT fans are just defending attacks (although MeanGreenGem doesn't help things very much).

It's quite surprising how some fans don't support NT, LaTech, and others based on their current state of sports (mainly football) when they added such schools as SMU and Rice. BS arguments like "SMU has tradition" doen't mean jack when you can't count the number of winning seasons over a 15 year period on 2 hands (or even number of victories in the past 3 years).

I must admit I was very surprised that C-USA took SMU.

If we got into the CUSA, would I be happy? Yeah! But I wouldn't go beg some fans from that conference who have no say so over if we get into that conference or not. It's just children fighting back and forth, when they talk about the possible schools who might get in, or not. You just have to leave them alone and let them fight it out, b/c in the end none of this will matter. I for one, will not get in the middle of some children who are fighting about something they have no control over, b/c I have never seen a decision about a future conference member being decided by who the fans on this board like or dislike. And that's MHO.
